In these series of articles we have been looking at the Perfect Model for church life. This model is not church traditions, church history, or the first century church. The Perfect Model is church life within the Godhead! I have been proposing to you the idea that the relationship that exists between the members of the Godhead actually is the basis of the Church in the purest sense. By learning and experiencing the fellowship of Three, we can then have a sure foundation for proper church living. If you want to see how the members of the Body of Christ relate to one another, then look at the members of the Godhead. How do the Father, Son, and Spirit relate to one another? How do They give to one another? How do They "see" one another?

How does communication flow within the Godhead? Well, I don't believe that They communicate with words, at least not human words or language. I believe that They communicate through revelation. Since the Son receives the Life of the Father into Himself, included within that Life is the Father's thoughts. The Father's thought becomes the Son's thought. There is no need of verbal language since they share the actual thoughts! This is not mental telepathy! This is spirit to spirit communication! Deep calling unto Deep! The Father "speaks" to the Son. The Son either "speaks" back to the Father or responds in some other way such as in the form of obedience. We know that the Holy Spirit is the One Who takes the action in order for the exchange of revelation to take place. The Father reveals Himself to the Son. The Son reveals Himself to the Father.

The Father's Word Incarnated

"For I have not spoken on My own authority; but the Father Who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak" (John 12:49).

The original word for "say" here is translated as substance. Jesus spoke the very substance of the Father's words. Jesus heard them first from the Father and then spoke them to us. He said that He came in the name of the Father. This means that He came "as the Father" to be the expression and Word of the Father to us. This is tremendous! If Jesus spoke the words of the Father, then it was really the Father speaking through the Son. When Jesus said, "I am the vine, you are the branches," it was because the Father had first spoken that to Him! In reality the Father said, "I am the vine, and You(My Son) are My branches!" We must realize that all communication first happens within the Godhead. Nothing is original with us! It all happens within the Living God first! Do you see? The Son's Vine is the Father. Our Vine is the Son!

The Need for Revelation

There is a desperate need for revelation within the church today. None of the things that I have been sharing with you can really be understood intellectually. They must be apprehended by revelation. You cannot take these teachings, memorize them, and then implement them in your church. It won't work! Only the Holy Spirit can reveal Christ to you!

Paul said that it pleased the Father to "reveal His Son in me." You need a revelation of "Christ in you the hope of glory!" This glorious fellowship of the Godhead is flowing inside of you right now! You can participate in this flow by an act of faith. This act of faith involves you entering into your spirit and then beholding the fellowship between the Father and the Son. And then participating in that fellowship. Receive His Life. Receive His love. Flow His Life and love back to Him. I really can't show you how to do this. You need revelation and it takes time. God knows your heart. If you are truly hungry, He will feed you!

The Model Expressed

Church life is the expression of divine life through a body of believers. That's what a body does; expresses an inward life in an outward way. The Church is to be an expression of the divine relationship within the Godhead. The same flow of divine life, love, beholding, and communication needs to be happening between the members of the Body of Christ. The world has never seen such a relationship as this. Jesus said that the world would know we are His disciples by the love we have for one another. This is the Father's love flowing amongst the brethren. Total giving. Total caring. Total laying of one's life down for another. Brothers and sisters, how could we ever do this? Here is our answer: Jesus said, "I can of Myself do nothing!" He lived by the Life of His Father. We can only live by Christ in us!
